Suspect:      Unknown Male, Black, Adult (No further description)

Suspect Vehicle:   Black Mini Cooper with large wheels

Victim:        Adult male-name withheld

Synopsis:    Several males are engaged in a physical fight outside the Zen Lounge (705 Pier Ave). One of the male subjects brandishes a 9mm firearm and shot approximately 6 times towards the involved subjects. The victim is struck by a bullet fragment causing injury to his head.

Details:     On 4-8-12 at approximately 2 am, HBPD Officers responded to 705 Pier Avenue regarding a "shots fired" call. Upon arrival, Officer discovered that several male, black, adults had been involved in a physical fight. A witness reported hearing one of the subjects yell "Long Beach Insane" (Crip gang) prior to several shots being fired from one of the subjects.

A victim was not located at the time of the shooting, however a male was struck by a bullet fragment and later sought treatment at a hospital in Long Beach. The victim did not know the identity of the shooter or gang members involved.
