Synopsis: On 08-21-09 at about 4:40 PM a security
guard at the AT&T Cellular Telephone store at 1100
Pacific Coast Highway Hermosa Beach observed the
above suspects, with their child (male toddler),
acting suspiciously inside the store. After being
inside the store for several minutes the suspects
with the toddler entered a nearby car and left the
area. The security guard telephoned the Hermosa
Beach Police Department with the suspect and vehicle
description.
Responding officers located the vehicle a short
distance away and conducted a traffic stop. HBPD
officers on-scene were able to locate approximately
$1600 worth of "Bluetooth" hands free ear pieces
inside the vehicle. Further investigation revealed
that the suspects may be responsible for a series of
thefts at AT&T Cellular Telephone stores in
Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Inglewood, Santa
Monica, Huntington Beach, and Hawthorne.
A small quantity of narcotics and marijuana was also
found inside the car.
Also inside the car was the toddler (name and age
withheld), who belonged to one of the suspects. The
toddler was later released to a family member.
Department of Child and Family Services was
notified.
Both suspects were arrested and booked at the HBPD
jail without incident. They are being housed at the
Los Angeles County Jail pending arraignment.
