Missing Person:  Nina Von Schweinitz (DOB 6-14-1990) Hermosa Beach, Ca.
 
On 12-9-09 Missing Person Nina Von Schweinitz was located alive and well by the Imperial County Sheriff's Department. Von Schweinitz had not been seen or heard from for almost one month and was not using her cell phone or social networks. Von Schweinitz's 1988 Honda Civic was located by the California Highway Patrol on 12-5-09 abandoned near the 215/15 freeways. Von Schweinitz was last seen near "Slab City" (Niland, Ca) during Thanksgiving and left on a road trip.
 
After Von Schweinitz's vehicle broke down, she and two friends abandoned the car and hitch hiked back to Slab City. Upon returning, she became aware that her photo was on the news and contacted the Sheriff's Department. Sergeant Emmet Fried of the North County Patrol Division stated that she contacted his office in an attempt to inform everyone that she was ok. A Deputy responded to her location near the Slabs and confirmed that she was not under any duress.
