Possible Scam Alert.
This company has not complied with the city requirements
of a permit to solicit for your business.
A company, HOME I.D., has been distributing these flyers
in the area of the 700 block of 30th Street. Block
Captain, Ken Hartley e-mailed HBNW to inquire if this
was a legitimate company, as the flyer did not include a
number to call the company. Since HBNW educates
residents about the City of Hermosa Beach permit
requirements, he forwarded it to us with his
suspicions.
We contacted City Manager, Steve Burrell and Public
Works Superintendent, Mike Flaherty for clarification.
Mr. Flaherty said that these types of service companies
show up several times a year and this department does
not authorize them. HB has only one company, "Canning
Hunger", that complies with our policies. Mr. Burrell
mentioned that the city has not issued a license for
HOME I.D.
